School is starting for everyone and with school days come lunches to pack every day! The girls are going to a half day school program that includes lunch but usually by Friday’s every week, I find myself repeating the same things or I’m standing in front of my refrigerator willing something to jump out at me.

I have one guideline for myself when it comes to packing lunches and it’s that they have to have something from all three of these categories: a protein, a fruit or vegetable, a snack. I usually throw in one more thing to keep their bellies full too.

My girls don’t like sandwiches so when I first started making school lunches, I always seemed to be at a loss but now that I’ve been doing this for a while, I have some great alternatives to the sandwich naysayers. It’s easy to get stuck in the same rut of putting repeater things into lunches too, especially if you’re packing them five days a week, so I put together this printable lunchbox cheat sheet for ideas for lunches! Hang it on the refrigerator and when it comes time to make lunches in the morning, you can reference this cheat sheet and have the lunches done in no time!
