2018. MY WORD.

Every year I sit and listen. Listen to what God has on my heart and what he’s whispering into my ear. And at the start of every year I pick that word to focus on throughout the year.

As I was pondering what to pick this year, this word kept coming up.

to care for.

to encourage the growth/development of.

Each year I choose a word, it becomes a part of me and the He always shows me that it was the perfect word and exactly what I needed for the year.

This year is the first year in a long time that there will be no job change. No buying any businesses. No moving houses (or states). So 2018 year I am choosing to nurture not only my children but my home and my marriage and my life. To really take care of it all and plant roots and lay ground for the years ahead.

Here’s a couple notes from the previous years words:

2017. Believe.

Believe was absolutely the word that I needed because it was full of change and trust in God. It’s incredible to look back and see how it was weaved throughout the year.

2016. Patience.

I was a new mom to our second baby and just yes. I was constantly repeating this word to myself as I learned to mother two kids under two years old. It was HARD but God granted me more patience than I thought I’d ever had and He still gives me patience as they grow older and more into their own little person(s).

2015. Start.

This was a weird year for me. I started a lot of things and let a lot of those things go but I pushed myself out of my boundaries and into the uncomfortable and it felt good. I continue to remind myself of this word too.

2014. Simplify.

My first year doing one little word was the year of simplifying. It was the start of my journey to live a simple more fulfilled life with less stuff and complications in it. I never knew how far this word would take me but five years later, I continue to simplify everything in my life and I truly believe it all began right here.

If you pick a word every year, I would love to hear what it is in the comments!

Nurture is an amazing word to have for the year. We love picking a word too and having a focus and direction for the year. Sierra~Beautifully Candid
